I am a University of Western Ontario graduate with a degree in Psychology and Sociology, and am looking forward to starting grad school in the fall to complete my MSW.
When I am not working I like to explore Detroit (have YOU been to the Motown Museum?), hanging out with my mutt and of course derby. I have been rolling with the Border City Brawlers for almost 2 years. Roller derby is my first sport (and my first broken bone) and I can often be seen practicing my rockstar skating moves on the hardwood in my living room (shhh....don't tell my landlord).
I'm not all rough-and-tumble in my spare time. Two days a week I volunteer at the local women's shelter and food bank, and like to help out at local art and film events like Media City. My guilty pleasure activities lie in collecting (and making) pop art, exploring vintage shops, finding good homes for balloon animals and loving live Flaming Lips a little too much.
I'm looking for someone who punctuates correctly, is willing to explore a new city with their walking shoes on, is able to survive in a tent for a few days at a music festival and isn't afraid to cheer too loudly at roller derby (glitter glue poster skills also considered). Let's find out how compatible our record collections are!
Last year I jumped off waterfalls in Maryland, marched in a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans, and took the Detroit coney island challenge (Lafayette or American? Still can't decide!) What will this year bring? Will you be by my side?
