Meet people from Canada. My perfect date would have to start by being relaxed. I simply can't have fun when I feel like conversations are forced and the activities are staged. I've entered the dating scene in a big city for the first time, and I've been thinking a lot about what would make a date enjoyable for me. The following is what I came up with as my dream date.
I would want to be fresh and ready to go, with plenty of time so that I wouldn't be in a rush. I would want to arrive to pick my date up right on time, and take her to this great Thai place. There would be no traffic at all, and as we drove we'd talk casually about our days, and laugh a little bit. When we got to the restaurant, they'd seat us quickly and we'd get started with a few drinks.
At dinner, we would have fun. We'd enjoy talking to each other, and the conversation would make us laugh. My date would be having a great time, and so would I. After the dinner, which would be great (as Thai food always is), we'd head out for a few drinks at some nice local pubs and socialise a little bit. Ideally, we'd bar hop a little bit on Union Street and maybe even bump into a few friends.
For me to have fun, my date would have to be someone I was totally comfortable with. I wouldn't want to feel like I was being judged on what drink I ordered, what I paid for, how I talked to people, etc. I would want my dream date to feel totally comfortable from the first minute to the last. After checking out the pub scene, we would share a cab home and I'd walk her to her door and say good night. While saying good night I would tell her I had a great time and would love to take her out again. She'd reply that she also had a lot of fun and would love to hang out with me in the future. In fact, she would even tell me a day the following week when she was free, and we would tentatively plan the next night right there. Then, I'd get back in the cab, and go home happy knowing I met a fun, nice girl, and that I would be seeing her again.
