They say I'm generally good company to be around- except when I'm hungry and then they say I'm a bear (they actually hold out cookies, at arm's length, for me to eat). I'm most proud when I can do things that are graceful and beautiful. Such things can be as diverse as; an oil painting of mine that is pleasing, a section of my garden that is beautiful, a perfectly executed run on my snowboard or an effortless, sweet roll in my kayak. Unfortunately, I am not always graceful and beautiful. I'm happiest when I live with nature and art. Not necessarily the capital letter Art or Nature but some senerio that has an artistic and natural component. Say for example: a swim in a cool pool below a waterfall- a sunset on a lake after a nice meal- a walk in a drizzling, misty forest followed by a warm fire- a snowshoe through white pristine snow, on a cold winter morning, after a big breakfast. I realize that life does not always allow for such movie-like scenes but I can sure try to cram in as many as possible. I also like to stimulate my other senses with quite the opposite. A loud rock band concert, a fast ride on my motorcycle, a heated discussion with someone holding an opposing opinion and learning anything (from how to fiberglass my kayak to how trees grow). I would like to share such moments and others with a male friend because company makes all events better. I do not expect to find a male,carbon- copy of myself- my god that would be boring! I realize that at our age we have developed our own paths, but to enjoy some moments together would be great. I find that "life" doesn't always want me to have wonderful, interesting, and stimulating times- so a sense of humour is definitely required for living life. My sense of humour is pretty good- how's yours?
