My name is Leslie as my mother felt that she had to play a cruel joke on me while doing her part for feminism. She decided the best way to reach this goal was to give me a unisex name – you can imagine how thrilled I was with her choice while growing up in Calgary. My favorite ice cream is mint chocolate chip, I refuse to eat anchovies on pizza, and I get along very well with sushi. I like to watch good movies (mostly independent), listen to music (an ex-coworker calls it trash rock), and read – mostly exciting news articles. Watching most sports on television with the exception of Hockey is fairly painful to me. Thankfully, my PVR has no idea how to record reality TV; however, it is very successful when recording Real time with Bill Maher, Weeds, and Californication. While I do work out 3-5 times per week, I wouldn’t exactly say that I enjoy this type of torture. I also like outdoorsy types of activities like hiking and skiing.
Looking for someone who is somewhat normal (but not entirely). A sense of humor ranks at the top of my list as does being easy-going. You should be willing to make fun of me at any given moment. Date someone special from Toronto, Canada. I'm a successful divorced guy with two great kids (8 & 10) that live with me part time. My kids are amazing and are a huge part of my life, but I still have room for someone special. Keeping fit is important to me, so I work out regularly, eat right and get out mountain biking and snowboarding when I can. I like all the usual stuff you read on these profiles: music, movies, travel and getting out with friends (who doesn't) and I've got a wide range of other interests. I also like making pancakes from scratch on Sunday mornings for my kids. Ok, they're actually for me but my kids aren't complaining. I'm funny, too, but that's hard to get across in one of these profiles. You'll have to trust me.

I think I look better than I photograph, and I am more interesting then the words I have chosen to put onto paper. Things that make me smile are the wagging tail of a dog, the purring of a cat. Mike Myers as Austin Powers, and Freddy Mercury singing a Queen song. Almost any movie with Harrison Ford or Julia Roberts. Picard is a better captain than Kirk, but not by much, and other than Janeway, the rest don't really impress me too much. Journey hasn't been the same since Steve Perry left, and I am not on the Bieber or Gaga band wagon. Katey Perry is a talented singer, but relies too much on theatrics. With pride, I have served my country as a UN Peacekeeper and donated a kidney. I have coached soccer and been a Big Brother. Not a big fan of being beat on the river, frost on my car windows, or the HST. I consider the RIDE program to be an infringement on my rights, as defined in the Charter and the Bill. Also low on my cool meter is construction projects that start, but never seem to finish and the disproportionate distribution of wealth in our country. Down right disgusted by abuse of children, animals, and the immoral use of authority. I am grateful for living in Canada, have a loving family, and loyal friends. I am old enough to understand the importance of income versus expenses, exercise and healthy eating, but young enough to enjoy a comic book, fire place and a passion flaky. I don't have much mental baggage. Got tired of carrying it, and actually not interested in carrying anyone else's either. I believe that professional sports is for the most part, millionaires playing for billionaires, so no team has earned my allegiance except for the Green Bay Packers (bought one share at Christmas ), and the Canadian national men's and women's hockey teams. I am influenced and inspired by Noam Chomsky, Terry Fox and Stephen Hawking. Socially, I am close to people who I know, and a can be slow to warm up to people who are arrogant or judgmental, if at all. I laugh out loud more than I used to, and I am thankful for that. Can't say what triggers it, but the list of causes includes, but is not limited to Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory, my children's sense of humour, puppys, kittens, and my tax refund. I am passionate about my life partner.
