I'm happy with my life, my job, my friends and family. I'm looking for someone who can compliment my life in a positive way. Travelling is important to me, I try to do it as often as I can manage. Being a teacher is amazing because it allows enough time off to enjoy going out of town more than the average job. I'm not shy, but when I first meet new people, I tend to sit back and get to know them before I start to open up... it doesn't take long at all!

Edumacation....
I have a BA in Political Science and Humanities (I know, I know... what was I thinking?!). My favourite courses were always film studies or art history. Any time I get to watch a movie and have it count for school credit is a win. Conversely, I could barely stay awake in some world history classes. Too many dates and names to remember!
Working girl...
I always imagined myself going into the film or television business. After university, I did manage to land a job in the industry, but it turns out that it just wasnРІР‚в„ўt for me. I flitted around for a bit and found myself back at the same bookstore where I had worked in university. One inspired coworker suggested that I take a course in publishing. Several years later and IРІР‚в„ўm still with books. I insist on having a job that leaves me feeling good and that inspires me. I try to have work that is challenging, interesting, and creative. . I've tread a bit of an unusual path. I started life thinking I was going to be an artist, and along the way somehow became enthralled by big business.
I dearly love to laugh - and I mean the deep, unbridled kind of laughing that makes your abs ache, eyes tear and is guaranteed to leave you with deep creases as you age. This occasionally poses a problem as I happen to have a hideous laugh (seriously, young children cower behind their mothers, and if I am by the ocean pods of whales are thrown off course), but usually others erupt in fits of their own as they have never really heard anything so ridiculous.
I also absolutely adore The Lord of the Rings (there, I said it), but I swear I have never been to a fantasy convention and know less than 10 words of Elvish. The book is probably where I picked up my love of the British Isles, and goddammit one of these days I will be a visiting lecturer at Oxford.
All things considered, I am a pretty fortunate human being. I have a great family and good friends, a job I actually like (most days), and my health. I feel somewhat self-indulgent asking for more, but am none the less going to as fortune favors the bold. In my "On Golden Pond" years I want to be able to sit in well-worn matching armchairs with a partner. As with anything, you've got to start somewhere, so I am starting here.
