This kind of feels like a job interview so glad you can't see me because I am writing this in my pajamas with my hair standing straight up.
I love my family and my job in that order. I am a nice, relaxed person who likes to take on new challenges. I am goal oriented but try to be grateful for all I have in life now. I have a dog and cat who I can be caught talking to and singing to on a regular basis. I recently ran my first 5km race but don't be impressed because I ran it sick and kept running back to encourage a friend so time was not good. I have taken up knitting which I get a lot of ribbing about from friends.
My home life is relaxed and filled with laughs, practical jokes and some lazy days. I do not see myself living in Whitby forever. I would like to live in a country setting perhaps on water. I believe that laughter is essential and should be a part of every day. It is often all too easy to get so tangled up in the clutter and stress of our day-to-day lives that we forget to step back, look at the bigger picture and appreciate where we are, what we have accomplished and who we are sharing it with. Being independent is a wonderful thing but ultimately life and laughter are better when shared.
And...what could be better than to share a loaf of freshly baked crusty bread, some tangy cheese and a glass (or bottle?) of wine. Even the simple pleasure of an icy cold beer (real or root!) on a hot day is enhanced when enjoyed with that special someone...and accompanied by a salty snack :) I must admit that I'm not a "foodie" and I don't really like to cook but I totally appreciate when someone else does...and I am happy to do the clean-up :)
I can easily lose track of time when engrossed in a good book and enjoy going for walks with my iPod keeping me company (and on pace) but would happily forgo the music in place of conversation if you wanted to join me.
I love the feel of the sun on my skin and enjoy vacations in the south especially when it is dreary and cold in Canada. Visiting Europe and seeing more of Canada are also on my travel wish list for the future.
