I really enjoy hiking and getting out to nature more and more. Particularly around the Kananaskis country area. I enjoy learning about Bushcrafting and have enrolled into a 7 day winter survival course with Karamat to be taken place West of Edmonton in the Wildwood Area. **Update** I survived the Winter survival course. It wasn't to intense but what a great learning experience. I spend 7 nights and 8 days, February 18-25, 2012 learning about bushcrafting and survival from some great people. 5 nights out of 7 I spent outside in my own shelter. If you need to be in touch with the wilderness and feel that connection back with nature this experience would be for you. Seriously, the best course I have taken and I had the priviledge to learn from the Master Mors Kochanski - I highly revere this man and recommend if you ever get a chance to meet him, do so. I have enrolled in the Summer Survival Camp July 22-28, 2012 and will more than likely attend the rat root rendevous at the end of August.
Other activities I enjoy are gym time, walking/running, and biking. I am beginning to train for a beginners tri Athlon in Sundre for August - come along with me!
I believe that my friends would classify me as ol reliability. I am the guy that makes sure I'm on time, mean what I say and say what I mean, finish what I start. They may also say that I maybe alittle serious but am pretty easy going and layed back when you get to know me.
The person I would like to attract is someone who wants to be in a relationship, not because a man will complete her but rather for enrichment and to share, laugh and love with. I believe in treating others how I like to be treated. The accomplishments that I am most proud of that come to mind is the 13 months of diet and training. Boy was it alot of hard work and such a great mind and physical exercise. When I look back at my career and how I was able to continously learn and what I accomplished in such a short time frame. I am really happy and grateful for learning experiences through past investments, my friends, my family - my life.

Camping is a big part of my summer be it out 4x4ing, quading, ball tournaments, BC road trips, or a little national park family camping with some daytime hikes and a trip to the springs. With that being said I can still "black tie" it up in the city, head out clubbing or just stay in with movies and a fire with wine. Country raised and after living in calgary, edmonton, and vancouver over the years i like to visit the city and stay close but an acreage out side city limits is my style. I work with my hands and take my work life seriously enough to be a stable provider and role model to my kids but i also know how to be a kid and not sweat all the little stuff and still have fun with life!!. I am very handy and a automotive gear head but I also cook, clean, and change diapers when needed... Thankfully I"m past that stage with my kids. lol I am looking for a woman who can be a lady when she needs to but can still go get the mail in her pjs and get her hands (and nails) dirty sometimes. I am a affectionate person and would like someone who likes to give and receive attention. I believe people need to be them selves but also must have a great respect for their relationship and also both people must have good communication skills for a relationship to last. If the 3 kids scares the crap out of you i can understand but yes i have 3 wonderful boys 2,5,8 and a beautiful 12 year old step daughter who i am daddy to as well. I share custody 50/50 so yes i am busy but i also have 50% of my time free to explore this amazing world we live in. I am not looking for a mother for my kids or a nanny for that matter but obviously my partner in crime would have to have a love for kids. I am a single dad, and my kids constantly show me where I need to do more work on myself. I am educated, but unconventionally, You are unlikely to find me in front of the TV or at a hockey game. It is possible that I'm a societal contrarian - always doing things differently, and learning through experience. I haven't had a 9-5 job since I was a teen, and have been successful in my business ventures, affording me time to be with my kids and my family, and time to explore my interests. Delicious, healthy food, interesting company, and deep conversation - thats the way to spend an evening out. Family is very important to me and I cherish my familial relationships.
The interests I am currently exploring are performing live music, working with horses at an equestrian center in Water Valley, and barnwood furniture building. All challenging and very rewarding. I also love winter sports: skiing, both downhill and cross country, and in the summer, single track mountain biking, hiking, volleyball, or something new. My musical tastes are broad, and lately I have favoured folk and the following bands: Feist, Mumford and Sons, Avett Brothers, Foster the People, Florence and the Machine. Most of my travels have been to South and Central America. I would love to get over to India, and spend some time in Western Europe.
