Date someone special from Nelson, Canada. I am pretty down-to-earth, warm and easy-going by nature, empathetic, self-aware, capable and then again altogether too in touch with my inner child and fun-loving. I am a creative person and have spent much of my life making art. I need a nice balance of social activity and quiet space both of which I am happy to share with someone. I have lived in the city and in the country and enjoy parts of both. I presently live in a small mountain town where life is pretty close to nature (chopping wood for the wood stove, etc. to keep warm in the winter). I have a great social scene here and, as anyone who has ever lived in a small community would know, you have to work at making social activity happen or it is deafeningly quiet - no distractions. On the other hand, dating someone in this small, intimate community can get to be a bit too close for comfort. I get away to the city from time to time for work and get the odd excuse to travel. . Long distance is also alright at this point. I am willing to relocate if things get serious, although I am not in any rush to rush into anything. I am open to 'life' as it happens. Let's take things form there.
I don't have kids but I have nieces, nephews and neighborhood kids who I adore. I do love to travel and the last place I visited was India last November. It changed me. Why India? Not sure entirely except that it drew me (and I received a fellowship to attend an art residency there so why not!). I don't make millions (hello...artist) and my lifestyle is by choice and my needs are simple enough. Even so, I am wealthy when it comes to pretty much everything else in my life- India showed me that.
I would like to meet a man who feels young for his age and is truly engaged in his life: someone who cares about his health, is confident and knows who he is. I find a man who feels comfortable dressed up but can also rock a dirty old pair of jeans sexy. For myself, I am not the kind of girl who is fixated on ''every hair in place'. A good balance of soft and tough, playful and serious would be nice. I am a good listener, good conversationalist and good humoured. Ideally, I would like to attract someone who is the same. Chemistry, of course, is all important, let's face it.
I am new at this online dating thing so I imagine that this info will get fine-tuned as I get better at it.
