Date men from Canada / Ontario / Thunder Bay, 59 year old

Date someone special from Thunder Bay, Canada. I'm a well-educated, very active, handyman who is comfortable in just about any environment among just about any sort of folks. From time to time I took jobs as a US National Park Ranger (interpretive) or government historian so I have travelled quite a bit in both Canada and US. I am looking to spend time with someone who is happy, honest, flexible, active, and moral (but not necessarily a prude). And no pushover either. I appreciate someone who's not afraid to tell me if I'm out of line (which, of course, never happens). Drama queens and plastic people need not apply!
In 2010 I lost both my sweet wife of 23 years and our lovely 14 year-old autistic son in two separate unexpected tragedies. It's been tough but I'm hanging in there. Still have my sense of humor (don't tell my daughter but that was me who stuffed the chicken bullion cube up the bathroom shower pipe!). For now I'd like to find someone to talk to, to listen to, to walk with, to laugh with, to spend time with doing whatever (and I have a lot of experience doing "whatever," from horse shoeing to grapic art). I'm not looking to "rush into another relationship" but life is too short to spend it alone. I have a lot of goodness to share. Seems a shame to waste it.
Anything that's broke, I can fix - car engines, outboard motors, computers, pianos, plumbing, wiring, you name it! Although I have a ton of education under my belt, I am by no means an "egghead" or nerd. I'm as comfortable in worn jeans and logging boots swinging a pulaski (look it up!) as I am in three-piece suits giving lectures. I may drink a beer or two during a night out but that's it. Not a boozer. I'm not shy (former teacher/coach and ranger) but in non-professional situations I can sometimes take a bit to get warmed up. Generally, I like quiet places when I go out. I am fit (especially for my age) but no body-builder. And NO pot-belly. As thin and tough and true as a prairie fence line. Walking is something of a passion. I also enjoy dancing - the real kind (at least hand in hand if not cheek to cheek). I am honest and straightforward. No secrets. Not a phoney. My only significant defect is I am intense about living life. Sometimes perhaps too intense. And perhaps a bit too passionate.
My nineteen year-old daughter is in and out of the nest. It is important that the two of us stay connected. Anyone with a heart should appreciate that kids are always a priority. Especially in this case. And, of course, I love her to bits.
