Meet men and women from Canada. To describe myself, I would have to say that I am a happy, optimistic person, who loves people. I am open, honest and enthusiastic. I delight in the pleasures life offers; a rainy day, the budding shoots in Spring, the first snowfall, a quiet cup of coffee and a good book can give me moments of deep pleasure.
I have many interests and passions. I love to read, I have always been happy engrossed in a well written novel. I have spent years studying fine cuisine, and love to prepare and enjoy good meals. Photography is another passion, although I struggle to get my shots as artistic as I want. I weep in operas, as the arias engulf my whole being. I want to write a novel. In spite of all these efforts, I am not able to perfect anything, but I enjoy them all.
Travel is another passion of mine. I love cities, I love mountains and valleys, oceans and beaches. I love beauty and history. I could not list my favourite destination, as I have too many. If I had to, I would say Venice for the romance, Pacific Rim Park for the nature, and wet camping, London for shows and high tea and history.

Meet people from Canada. I am a newly retired educator who is enjoying choosing activities to keep myself busy and happy. I like to be physically active and to travel but my greatest pleasure is my family consisting of children and grandchildren. I love to read, to learn new things and to laugh with friends and family. I have been widowed for over 15 years and until I retired, I was too busy to be lonely. However, now that I have more time on my hands, I am feeling a little lonely and so am looking for companionship. My friends see me as an outgoing, helpful and considerate person. I will always look at life with a " Glass half full" philosophy. I have been very active in associations representing my peers ( eg. teacher unions, administrator associations and now retired educator groups). My peers have recognized my accomplishments and I am proud that former students still recognize me and are always happy to see me and to catch up with me. I am vegetarian, though not too strict, so if bar-b-q-ing is something you enjoy, I'll simply throw a pile of veggies on next to your steak. : ) Mutual respect and honesty are key to any relationship. I believe it is important that a man has had a loving relationship with his parents. While I want a monogamous and committed relationship, I feel that two people need a degree of independence and self-sufficiency.

Ok this being known, here comes the real me: I love to share opinion with my friends, whether on books or movies, activities, not espacially politics because I think that everyone may have their own opinion and sometimes it can become a dangerous subject (lol).
