Here are the reasons you shouldn't date me:
1) If you put faith in what the psychology textbooks say about a person being unable to move into a new relationship before a minimum one year hiatus from the old one then steer clear. I've only been physically separated for six months, although emotionally it has been far longer than that. I find it odd that the entire human race requires the same minimum amount of time to heal from a broken relationship. Who knows if we ever fully mend but I feel ready to move on.
2) Yes, I want to be in a sexual relationship. If I were you I'd run screaming from any guy who claims he doesn't because he's probably a fraud or a liar. I also want all of the other great aspects of a relationship such as affection, bonding, sharing, caring, interaction, stimulation and friendship.
3) If you are looking for somebody who adores dogs and horses as much as you do, I'm not him. Don't get me wrong. I like dogs ... at least well behaved dogs. Horses scare me quite frankly. I'm not an animal hater by any stretch of the imagination. I would never hunt any creature and would make a piss poor farmer because I love watching gophers. I'm just not as over-the-moon about dogs and horses as some of you seem to be based on your profiles.
4) Hiking and camping are listed as passions for many of you. I don't think I've ever been on a hike. Maybe I should try. I'm 45 and I don't cherish the thought of sleeping in a tent but I'll give anything a shot, especially if my kids are keen on doing it.
5) Speaking of kids ... I've got two of them and they're pretty young. So if you're done raising your children or have never had any kids and don't relish the idea of being with somebody who is at that stage of life I'm not your guy. I have joint custody and they mean the world to me.
There. I've probably chased away most of you. For the handful that remain here are some reasons why you should consider dating me:
1) I'm romantic and affectionate. I love to cuddle and stroke hair and hold hands. That's not just lip service. I really do enjoy that aspect of a relationship.
2) I'm fun, spontaneous and a good conversationalist.
3) I was going to say, "Friends say I'm intelligent and humorous." But I can't recall a friend actually uttering that sentence. Trust me. I am. ;)
4) I am honest to a fault.
5) I'm a dedicated father who cares deeply about his kids.
6) Although I feel like I've aged 10 years in the last year people still say I don't look or act my age.

I want to start by saying the temp. in my house is at least 24C at all times and I have a hot tub in an enclosed gazebo. So that should tell you that I struggle with even the mildest of winters. Between the last week in November and the end of March I spent 6 weeks away to three southern locations. I expect that my future winters will include similar time away probably 3-4 weeks in Florida this year on top of the two weeks in SoCal each year.
Having said that one of my favourite activities occurs during the winter...Huskie Basketball! It would take something special to get me to miss one of these games. We have two great programs (Men's and Women's) that are doing great things. They combine two of my favourite things Basketball and the UofS and I am one of their biggest non-family supporters.
My other interests in the spring and summer are cycling, golf and tennis for sporting activities. I enjoy gardening as I have a nicely landscaped yard and I enjoy keeping it up and tweaking it regularly. I also enjoying cooking throughout the year as I am a big fan of allrecipes. Oh and I forgot to mention I am a regular attendee at my neices and nephew's sporting and musical activities.
