I am crazy about movies (attend TIFF and Hot Docs each year), a variety of theatre and music (ranging from jazz, soul, blues, classical and beyond), artistic and cultural events, browsing in art galleries and book stores, and exploring Toronto's interesting neighbourhoods. Other favourite activities include travel (especially cruises!), volunteering and playing Bridge with friends. I enjoy going out for a fine meal but also look forward to a cozy evening cooking at home or ordering in a pizza long with a DVD or a game of Scrabble. I like CBC radio, fashion, and singing. I love red wine, good coffee, sushi, garlic and dark chocolate (although not necessarily in the same mouthful!)

. My friends say I have a positive attitude. I am grateful for my three grown up children one still resides at home until school is finished. I smile and do a happy dance when I fix things around the house myself. I am told I am quite loud when I laugh at funny movies. I walked up the CN Tower a few years ago with some friends from work. I recently completed a 10k bike ride for Charity. I am now training with my co-workers to possibly ride 25k. (I will require some training). I have also experienced being a passenger on a motorcycle. My friends were terrified for me but I thought it was neat. I took dance lessons for a year, would be nice to meet someone who likes to dance.
I am not a confrontational person.
My ideal man would be a kind, patient, non confrontational, good communicator. I also would like take time to get to know each other.

. I had a long, satisfying career in banking and retired in 2011. Although most of my career was spent in Windsor, the last several years were in Toronto so returning to the Windsor-Essex County area on retirement just made sense. Especially since my first grandchild was expected in Kingsville. I am completely enjoying the role of Grandma but that is only a part-time occupation(as it should be). I also visit my Mother in Sarnia frequently, sharing responsibility for her care with my brother.
In between time with granddaughter and time with Mother, I like to play badminton and golf. I would also like to play some cards (learned Bridge over the winter) but I'm reluctant to go to one of the centres, where they play cards, without a partner (plus I don't feel like a "senior/golden-age" person yet).
I have done a little bit of travelling - enough to know I would like to do more. The trips I have taken were "packaged" but I think it would be fun to do something a little less structured. Camping is another activity that I enjoyed as a young person but have not had the opportunity to do in recent years.
I have a positive outlook, seeing the good side of things (and people) first. I like the philosophy of "act as if" which can create all sorts of possibilities. Although I can be a bit shy in new circumstances, I am thought to be outgoing, warm and friendly with a good sense of humour (although sometimes corny).
