Meet a boy from Calgary, Canada. I was born in Calgary and grew up here, but moved to Halifax for undergrad, the UK for law school and the Netherlands for a master's degree. So I've been gone for quite a while. It's good to be back in a place where you know exactly what you are getting at the grocery store. The downside is, while girls always used to notice my accent, I seem to have lost that feature now that I'm back home.
I'm fairly outgoing, I like to tell stories and hear them and have been told I'm "eloquent when you're on a roll." I'm pretty confident in the things that I do, and am driven by a set of values that I try to comply with every day: courtesy, integrity, perseverance and indomitable spirit. There is a good reason for each of them individually that I can explain if we get to know each other.
I like the outdoors and usually head to Minnesota in the winter to do some ice fishing, and in the summer to do some boating. I used to compete regularly in Tae Kwon - Do, after a series of injuries I took up coaching, and took the Durham University team to the Scottish Championships. Now that I'm back in Calgary, and have access to the awesome - if sometimes painful - physio facilities at the Talisman Centre, as well as my old club,I plan on training again, and competing.

I grew up in Calgary but have been fortunate enough to live in some different places. I did an internship in majestic Adelaide, Australia, edutained middle schools students in the port city where Hyundai makes its cars and just recently, came back from the wonders and awe of Chile.

I am the guy who loves to be around people. While I may be on the more reserved side, I do enjoy being able to spend time with my friends just chatting or playing sports and being active. I LOVE to play volleyball or wallyball with my friends, and many great weekends have been spent camping at our favourite spot out near the mountains.
I have to admit though, I am in another relationship - my photography business:) Photography is both my hobby and my career, and I love everything that comes with it (ok not quite everything). It's a passion though, and a great one at that! I shoot weddings mainly (both photos and videos), and last April I quit my full time job to pursue photography full time. Someday my goal is to build a sustainable business that doesn't eat up 100% of my time, and that allows me to spend time with my family, as well as travelling. I really enjoy shooting film, and I want to have my own darkroom setup again someday.
Last year was a big travel year for me, as took a 3 week trip to Europe with 1 week in the US on each side! We visited Austria, Germany, and Holland. I really like Vienna, but I also loved spending time in the small towns of Holland and biking around, etc. I really need to work on those pictures!
I find the best times are had when great conversations happen - conversations that are spontaneous, honest, and real. Hence I love sitting around fires, in a hot tub, or any other situation where great talks happen. I am a good listener, but if you engage me or I have something to say I have no problems sharing my thoughts!
Someday I want to live in a house with a big yard, and plant a garden. Maybe in Calgary, maybe not. I guess I take after my Dad, because he loves gardening, but I find it pretty awesome to be able to plant tiny seeds, wait a while, and voila! edible things!
I am a loyal, genuine, and trustworthy. I respect my friends very much, and I love my family (even though they can get on my nerves pretty quickly sometimes:). But overall they are great, and we are fairly close even though we are spread out around North America.
