Writing these "About me" blurbs is never easy, as it's almost impossible to describe oneself in a 3000 character limit box. Nonetheless, I'll try to be as descriptive as possible without droning on or writing something really cliched. I'm sure a lot of guys say "I'm really easy-going and love to have fun"...but really, who's going to openly say "I'm really uptight and hate life" on a dating site?
A little about me: I'm a 28 year old management consultant living in Calgary. I love my career and feel fulfilled and challenged by it every day. The only downside of it is that it has turned me into what I call a "white-collar gypsy". The majority of the work week I'm on the road travelling to a different town in Alberta. While the travel schedule can be exhausting at times, it keeps me on my toes and motivates me to make the most of my time in Calgary, where I stay active playing sports (basketball, ball hockey and soccer to name a few), working out, or hanging out with my friends.
I don't consider myself a particularly picky guy when it comes to dating, but one deal breaker for me is lack of intelligence and general unawareness of things that all adults living in Canada should know. Thus, if you don't know the following things, let's not waste each others time:
- Major world events like the Arab Spring, European debt crisis, or the 2012 presidential election in the U.S.
- The name of the current Canadian prime minister
- That Canada has a prime minister, not a president
- That a proper sentence requires both a subject and a verb
- That there was genocide in Africa prior to the whole "Kony 2012" campaign
- That Africa is a not a country
- That global warming and evolution are real and scientifically proven
- That psychic ability, ghosts, and anything you see David Blaine do are not
Sorry if that last part came off rude, but I've met too many people in their 20's and 30's who were unaware of the above points...
