Well, I've finally decided to take the plunge and go from merely testing the waters to diving headfirst into the imposing yet intriguing internet dating pool. As the expression goes, "nothing ventured nothing gained" and that aptly describes my general outlook on life. So, I suppose I should begin by telling you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in England having emigrated with my family to Canada at the tender age of eleven yet surprisingly I have retained somewhat of an English accent. I'm sure it's due to my having resided in numerous locations throughout childhood that I have always been comfortable adapting to new environments and challenges. I have worked in a variety of professions including such occupations as the full- time ministry, educational field in the public school system, sales and marketing to name a few and virtually all have been people orientated. I place great importance on family and friends and I have two wonderful daughters each unique in their own way. Now, as to describing my own character it seems to me someone else should be singing my praises ... but I guess it's down to me to tell you what a wonderful guy I am lol. Let me first say how grateful I am to my parents for providing a loving family environment in which I witnessed first hand the importance mutual love, trust and respect play in a happy, harmonious relationship. I am sincere, considerate and loyal and expect those qualities in a partner. I am generally outgoing and enjoy meeting new people. I am affectionate by nature and truly a romantic at heart. I have experienced some major bumps and bruises in my life's journey (including a bout with cancer at age 19- that changes your perspective in a hurry) but with loving support, faith and a healthy sense of humor I have prevailed. I believe the adversities that I have encountered in life have made me a more compassionate and thoughtful human being. Although I am comfortable in my own company I am at a point in my life where I want to share life's experiences with that special someone. I want to be able to attend a movie in the company of a woman that makes life that much more meaningful. To have a reason to look for that special gift at Christmas because their presence in your life has brought you additional joy and fulfillment. To plan trips to destinations that are that much more exciting because of who is accompanying you on your travels. I am looking for a woman of substance who is more interested in my character than my bank account. Who places greater emphasis on the spiritual than the material. Who shares similar interests and values and is not afraid to grow. If this applies to you then I may be just the man you're looking for. I am a pretty good cook, and enjoy dining in as much as eating out. I like to eat healthy but I am not a fanatic about it. I mean seriously, who could give up ice cream? I am fit but once again not a fanatic. I bike every day and took up running this past summer. I even competed in my first 8K and finished with a personal best time! I am very affectionate and love physical contact, everything from hand holding to cuddling on the couch and beyond. Basically a normal guy who is afraid of being alone. OK and clowns. They give me the creeps. I guess my biggest fear is being alone ...with a clown!
I would describe my ideal partner as someone who is secure in who she is and needs nothing from me other than affection and companionship. She should take pride in her appearance but not be obsessed with it. She's equally comfortable in jeans and a T shirt, as a little black dress. She should be able to laugh at herself and give as well as she can take. She shouldn't take life too seriously, after all no one gets out alive.

I like to keep active and look for the same in a partner. Travel is in my future as I have a motorhome that I love to travel in as often as I can. Who am I looking for? Good question. I am in search of a physically fit slim energetic honest, devoted, attractive lady that wants much the same as I do in life. Children have moved on but still a large part of her life. I like family gatherings. She must be independant. She should have her own likes that she wants to share with me. She should be open minded and want to experience new things. Friendly and positive glass half full rather than half empty. It would serve us both well if she has most of her previous baggage dealt with. Her height is of no issue to me, so long as she has a gorgeous smile, she will always have me wrapped around her baby finger. I am not a huge sports fan so seldom watch sports on tv, so she should be willing to give suggestions as to what we can do to full fill our time together.
