Being raised in a rural farming community in the 50's, with the communal approach to so much of life, led me to respect all people for what they are able to give, and to believe that we must provide for those, less advantaged, according to our abilities to so do, and to their need. High school in the 60's became a heady time with student politics, athletics and some study. The first University experience was dominated by athletic activity and some more study. Life continued to provide full time travel, study, work and living abroad; in Britian, Japan, Nigeria, Zambia, Namibia, and the Netherlands. Ten years learning French and engaging in the international ferment of Southern Africa in the 70's began to mold thoughts of justice, forgiveness, equality among peoples and where our collective souls are going. Teaching Environmental Science and Industrial Arts after another decade of Union activism in Canada led to 20 plus years in Occupational Health and Safety enforcement and here we are, seeking each other. Do you enjoy physical outdoor activity; skiing, tennis, shoeshoeing, canoeing, hiking, gardening? Do you enjoy folk festivals, African music and performers, the ballet, jazz and the Blues at 2 a.m. in some smoky bar? Could you consider living on a small farm part time, and travelling the world part time? That is, the southern world, as much as possible by land, backpacking? Are you engaged in your present life in the assistance to others less fortunate than you? Do you like sometimes just goofin' around and being silly at times, laid back in a hammock rocking to the Doobie Brothers, while caressing your friend? Have you backpacked into the Canadian wilderness in Black Fly season and returned home to say you enjoyed the experience? (If not, that's great! Who could??)
