About four years ago I bought a house in Oshawa because that’s where I could get the kind of house that I’ve always wanted to live in (old fashioned porch/mature trees on the street). Since then I’ve enjoyed contemplative time twice daily on the 401. I’m hoping (both fingers crossed) to move closer to work by the end of the summer. In order to further this grand project I’ve been engaged in endless rounds of forced home improvement in the last couple of years. I’m attracted to novel experiences and I find most things amusing, children and small animals like me, I look forward to finding the Saturday Globe and Mail plopped in front of my door on Saturday morning, I like to read – mostly non-fiction. I listen to a wide selection of music with the volume turned up, I Google song lyrics, I cook now and then – I like the creative part of making something. I like to eat good food, I BBQ with charcoal because some things are better done the hard way. I enjoy good conversation, I watch Sunday morning political shows and other obscure programs, I run on a treadmill in my basement both for exercise and to enjoy the symbolism. I watch Mad Men and the Daily Show because the writing is good, I like rainy days because no one suggests how you should spend them, my favourite season is Autumn, I’m easily bored – that’s when it’s time to leave or do something else, I strum a cheap guitar haphazardly, I like to stay up late in the summer, I've travelled a bit in the past and there are places that I haven't been that I'd like to go (Constantinople, Japan), I want to be financially secure but I don’t want to devote my days to accumulating stuff.

I have to say, as far as what I am looking for, its a variety of items. It's a friend, a confidant, it is a lover and a buddy. Someone who I have such a comfortable feeling with, its something you really can't describe.

I love to have fun in whatever I'm doing. I believe life is way too short to be down all the time. If I see someone down I will try to cheer them up if they allow me to and it usually works to the point of them thanking me for the uplift. That's the type of woman I'm looking for someone that is upbeat and not afraid to put a smile on someone's face when the time comes. I must confess right now that I'm not a conversation starter so I would need someone that isn't too shy.
