I am an elementary school teacher. I love my job and feel truly grateful that I get to help children. Working with children has helped me to appreciate life's little gifts (oh yes, I once spent 10 minutes watching my kindergarten kids gleefully throw pine cones across a frozen puddle...that day ended with a kid throwing up on himself...highs and lows lol) It has also helped me find humour in most situations, (which is great because I LOVE to laugh).
I'm hoping to find someone who loves to laugh as much as I do. I appreciate almost all types of humour, but nothing beats quick wit. I've also learned how to laugh at myself, which is something that I think everyone should be able to do.
Loves: Roadtrips with great music and coffee (Timmies or Starbucks). The gym, live music ( N*Sync was my second concert ever, after a Counting Crows/Live concert, present day it's mostly country music), cottage life, going out (pubs not clubs, although I do enjoy dancing). . I've re-written this thing a few times and I still don't think it does a particularly good job at "summing me up". I'm a music lover, so if I could be a song I'd be a mash up of Don McLean’s 'Vincent', Fleetwood Mac's 'Gypsy', Rascal Flat's "Mayberry”, The Pointer Sisters "Slow Hand" and for kicks, ZZTop's "Legs". Ask, and I'll tell you why I think these songs are so fitting.
I'm an attractive woman (or so I've been told) who lives a fairly healthy lifestyle. I say fairly healthy because I just wolfed down a big bowl of butter chicken. Yum. I try and do the gym thing a few times a week and now that spring has arrived I'll be spending quite a bit of time working in my backyard...lugging stone and pulling weeds.
I'm a hard worker and have managed to strike a balance (most of the time) between my career and the fun bits in life like traveling and spending time with friends and family. I've spent the past few years working on my house, and have become a bit of a handywoman! It's such a rush to learn how to do something like laying down tile or installing a humidifier and then actually doing it, and doing it well. It is a slippery slope though - I now love having a project on the go!
I find it ridiculously attractive when a man can walk the tightrope of "mans man" and build a deck or something and then get cleaned up and enjoy a nice bottle of malbec and talk about the decline of the European Union and when/if the Euro will become extinct. Ok, so maybe he won't like the SAME wine as I do, but you get where I'm going with this, right? Sometimes I think that I'm a slight contradiction too - A little bit tom boy, but one with lots of shoes and a love of sparkly things. It's these diverse interests and seemingly random set of characteristics that I value in myself and others.
Travel is pretty important to me. I've worked hard the last few years and now look forward to getting away and exploring someplace new during my vacations. Be it a road trip for some cross border shopping or hoping on a plane to someplace far away, I'm usually game for an adventure.
We all should feel special, desired and adored in a relationship, and essentially that's what I'm looking for. I'm not looking to get married next month, nor do I want a fling.
