I've been raised to believe that it’s not polite to talk about myself (but since we’re given license to do so here, I’m going to be very impolite, sorry). I think that's made me in part a good listener. Actually, I think it's the fact that I enjoy stories that's made me a good listener. Unfortunately, not everyone is a good storyteller. So maybe it's not that I'm as a good a listener as I am a good story enthusiast... much like everyone else on the planet I suppose. I mean, who doesn't enjoy a good story, and better yet, a good story well told. I guess I have a penchant for rambling as well.
