Date someone special from British Columbia, Canada. I'm no longer working so my interests define me on the Outside. I ski, alpine & skate, snowshoe, & I'm just getting into ski touring. I like to hike, camp as part of an outdoor adventure, paddle done the Broken Is,Bowron Lk, ride my mtn bike XC, Im a serious road cyclist- 2 Septs ago, I used my road bike to cycle 820km with 4km climb in 6 days with friends. I was Not the strongest. Fall/10 I was in Africa back packing to see the Mtn Gorillas; chimpanzees; the animals on the Serengeti & in the Nogorongoro Crater; climbed Mt Kili the less traveled route & descended into the crater to see the ever diminishing glaciers & the sputtering ash sulphur pits; lemurs of Madagascar; snorkelling in Zanzibar; spice market in Mombassa; Kenya for the Rhinos, & 2 weeks in Egypt to see the usual & dive in the Red Sea. at the end I was Tired, but oh so Satisfied.
March/11 I spent a month back packing through Indonesia. To Borneo to see the Orangutans; temple & volcanoes in Central & Eastern Java, Bali for the temples, traditional dancing, & beer on the beach; traveling through Flores & ending up seeing the Komodo Dragons & diving off the Komodo & Rinca Is; then some well deserve beaching, diving & chill'n on Gilli Meno Is. There is more to me than this, but I'll save that for when we meet.
My goal is to find a woman who wants to share this active lifestyle, love the outdoors & all it has to offer, enjoys the theatre, intelligent conversation, bbqs & dinner parties, cuddling & kissing, hot tubs & fires.& in turn introduce & expose me to new activities, & new ideas.
But this only partially defines me. Inside I'm warm & passionate, kind & courteous, refined-bohemian; Quiet & Boisterous; I love my adult children who have played & continue to play an enormous part in my life; Intelligent & Curious, & mature & boyish; I Love Live Theatre; intelligent conversation. I should add that I was Born in 1950.
I've noted that many of the responses I've received have mentioned that my retirement means I'm twiddling my thumbs in the meantime & that I'd insist on all of their time. Total nonsense. I'm excellent @ self entertainment- I've had years of practice. I was a lawyer for over 20 years, & a 1/2 time single Dad. I know the pressures of work & FAMILY.
I should add that I was Born in 1950.
I'm Not into endless emails, or IM'ng etc. We should be talking on the phone fairly soon & meeting shortly after that. We are both comfortable & confident in ourselves. Perhaps our in person meeting was not as much as we hoped. We're adults, we can courteously admit that & wish each other well.
Meet single man from Alta Lake, Canada. I'm easygoing and enjoy an active lifestyle especially outdoors. I am into skiing, bicycling, golf, kayaking and working out. I've always worked and ate to live and not vice versa. Spirituality is important and I like meditation, exercise and nature. I'm still learning to trust and follow my heart's intuition. I believe that true happiness is based on what is developed and found within oneself and not on externals. Still, sharing with a like-minded woman would sure help make living and appreciating each moment easier. My favorite music includes blues, rock and soft jazz. I enjoy reading especially biographies.
Hopefully, you have passion for nature, exercise, sports and life. A little banter can add spice to the relationship and I like to receive as much as give. Laughing, especially at ourselves,helps keep our egos in check. Who knows, add a little chemistry and maybe we'll take off!

I am semi-retired and currently engaged selling assets to allow for more leisure, though I do retain some small business interests locally and in Asia.
I remain athletically active and enjoy many sports and activities, but am not a sport spectator and do not watch sports. I like to sail and retain a keen passion for sailing, both racing and cruising, skiing, mountain biking, and other activities that promote health, fitness, and fun. I train at a local gym about 3 times a week
All activities in life are enhanced with the company and companionship of someone who one can hold as dear. I seek a relationship with a woman whose interests have some similarities with my own, but am willing to expand my own horizons to embrace new activities and interests.
I prefer vacations and travel destinations that have an activity or special interest to them. I am not drawn, for instance, to a beach resort where I can sit for a week and listen to the waves. That is not for me. I can enjoy passive relaxation for short periods, then prefer to be scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, or doing some activity or visiting places of interest.
I like to cook and entertain others, but I do not make a regular thing of entertaining such that it is a big part of my lifestyle.
I am a passionate individual on all counts; physically, and in the enthusiasm with which I pursue work, hobbies, sports, or support for things in which I believe.
It is a time in life to have and be committed to a partner with which to share all experiences. The dawn, the rain, the sun, breakfast and coffee (good coffee), activities and various interests, fun and heartaches. All life's things have more meaning when shared.
If you are one who likes to really sleep-in for long periods during the week, or o n weekends, then we are not to be. I like morning and like to share them. I look forward to each day and want to fill it with fun, or with meaning.
