I'm a good guy, fairly intelligent with a wide range of interest and love to engage in thoughtful, playful debate. I am also someone who loves the home life and life on the North Shore with its wide open spaces and access to so many things to see and enjoy. I am sensitive with a goofy sense of humour and someone who gets along with everyone. I give people the benefit of the doubt and respect upon meeting them but also require the same in return. I have a great job that I love and am very happy in my life but would like to take the next step with that someone special. I have two teenage boys that live with me half time, a successful career, a house that I love and hate (I want to fix the plethora of things that break but I don't know how), fond memories of travel to many continents - South America is next!, and treasured friends and family members.

Furthermore, insulting my intelligence by trying to say that you are just way more tanned now than in your photo won't work. Putting up a model's photo and trying to say it is you? Not such a great idea. Saying you want a relationship when all you really want is sexting or just casual sex? Not such a great idea either.
The old adage that honesty is the best policy is real. If you are capable of lying about something as fundamental as your age or cultural background, frankly you are capable of lying about anything. In my eyes a liar is just a little lower than a thief so don't waste my time.
Anyhow, I am the mother of two kids. I am finished reproducing, having done my bit to stabilize the population of our nation, but have no issues with my partner having kids. Now that the offspring are older I can devote more time to me and am interested in meeting a partner.
I enjoy reading, cooking, going to wine tastings and watching films. I come from a long line of good cooks and love spending time in the kitchen trying out new recipes.
While on the subject of food, we live in a great city with many fantastic restaurants that I enjoy trying out.
My taste in music is eclectic. I don't like country and western, opera, country and western, most rap and country and western. Did I mention my aversion to country and western? My favourite group, at this time, is The Black Keys and I really dislike Nicklesack. They truly are a blight on the face of contemporary music. My radio station of choice is The Peak followed by The Fox. Apocalyptica is awe inspiring but who doesn't like Metal played on cello? Although I don't care for Classic Rock, The Great Gig In The Sky still does it for me.
I can easily flip from Schubert's Serenade in D to Rammstein's Los or Willie Dixon's Spoonful. Not certain if this makes me schizophrenic or interesting but I guess it makes me something.
I don't watch much TV but do enjoy The Walking Dead and Lost Girl.
Although I enjoy being outside and love hiking, my idea of camping begins and ends at a Sheraton. So if you are looking for a Sherpa, I am not for you.
I guess what makes me unique is my sense of humour. Most people tell me I am hilarious but humour, like so much else, is subjective.
I have had the same profession for 20 years and will retire eventually from the same organization. I am independent, not a princess and don't need to be fawned over. I own my house and my desire to meet someone is a want not a need.
Politically I am all over the map, socially a liberal leaning towards libertarianism, fiscally a conservative. I enjoy talking politics and other taboo subjects so I do appreciate the company of the well read. I am a bit of a current events buff and read two newspapers every day.
I am an atheist. Although I am certainly open to other ideas on spirituality and religion, if you are of a more religious inclination I may not be the person for you.
What I am looking for is someone gainfully employed, who is both emotionally and financially stable, doesn't engage in wanton acts of cruelty to animals, who isn't a bully, who doesn't have small man syndrome, is witty and urbane, who manscapes, and most notably doesn't have a mullet, a moustache or wear a toupee.
My deal breakers are smoking and poor hygiene. If you can give a good foot massage I'll give you bonus points. Also, I am a very honest person and expect the same in return. I also am not too fond of the self-important;self-deprecation is an endearing quality.
I don't like drama. If you like yelling, screaming, breaking plates and slamming doors, besides the fact that you need a straight-jacket and some meds, I am not for you. I just want a normal relationship and won't stalk you if you decide we are not a match.
