Date someone special from Gravenhurst, Canada. I am a fairly recent widower. My wife of 30 years passed rather suddenly of cancer. She has left a very big hole in my life, as our marriage was very happy.
I am looking for a woman who will understand that love can be found again, even as I get used to that loss. I am also looking for a companion to go on trips, cruises, etc. as I am still healthy - I want to do a number of things on my "bucket list" before it's too late.

I enjoy movies, dining out, going on day-trips to no particular destination, going down south to play golf, finding a new trail in the woods, looking out over the water (or the ice) at my cottage, playing duplicate or social bridge to keep those braincells active, playing tennis, or a cruise.
I still enjoy working part time for IBM - I retired in 1998, but those old systems are still around.... so they kept me around as well.
I have 5 daughters - the youngest is 38 with a family in Niagara Falls. The others are in Barrie, Hamilton and Ottawa. I have 6 grandchildren and am fairly sure that's it. The oldest is 16 and the youngest is 2. They all love Opa... which makes me very happy.
I immigrated from the Netherlands in 1965 - and still have an identical twin brother and a sister there. This makes the Netherlands an high priority stopover when going to Europe.
I am looking for a companion and friend to share life with. I know that at our age we are more than just a bit set in our ways and that adjustments will have to be made. As I am an eternal optimist I would expect we can do that if we have a mutual respect for each other, and using that same optimism, I would hope to develop a relationship on an intimate level as well as I do not enjoy the empty house I now face every day. .
