Whether enjoying a glass of wine at an outdoor cafe or at romantic and rustic resturant. A steaming hot cup of coffee at an bistro, on a chilly morning, sharing a bagel and cream cheese, OR enjoying all the simple and good things this life brings us.
A walk along the seashore, taking in the salty air, as the waves crash against the rocks, looking up at the great majestic skies.. Listening to music, that range from the Beatles, Eagles, Eric Clapton, to Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, BB king. Enjoying an evening out to the theatre, or concert. Visiting art galleries. A few years ago, while in Dallas Texas, I happened upon an art exhibition by Thomas Kinkade. Been a fan of his ever since. The colours are visually stunning, and breath taking.
Whether just relaxing at home, or taking walks around the neighbourhood, enjoying simple conversation, or just cooking a meal together, while sharing a bottle of wine, is what life is all about. Life has taught me that lesson.

On my desk, I have a plaque with the following inscription. "Happiness is a journey, not a destination". This plaque was given to me recently, by a student who worked in my department this past summer. I wondered if she was trying to tell me something. This inscription, had a profound impact, in the way I approach each day.
