Last summer I took a five week solo motorcycle trip across Canada, and the Western United States (no maps, destination or cell phone). I liked it because I was free to follow locals tips as to what might be worth checking out, and wasn't pressured to hit this or that spot.

I currently work two jobs, so I don't often have time to meet people. I work at a bookstore as well as a paint store which is pretty neat, but also have been doing some freelance photography work, which I love. I hope to end up doing that fulltime, photography and film, and interesting imagery in general are my passion.
I love things like going out to walk in warm summer rainstorms without an umbrella. Taking long random roadtrips without necessarily having a final destination just for the sake of being somewhere else for a while. I have 5 tattoos (one fairly large), and have plans for others, but those can wait. I love video games and comics (Gaiman is god!), and can talk at great length about them if you get me started. Just as much, I like being outside, and going to the gym.
When it comes to music, I like variety, from Nirvana (hence the nickname) to Placebo, Muse, Bowie, NIN, Mumford & Sons, Beethoven, Kasabian, Tea Party, 311, Ashes Divide, Deftones, Ash, Juno Reactor. Most of my musical tastes are along the rock lines (classic, alternative, metal, punk, industrial), but I also like folk, some electronic, and I love film scores. Really, when it comes to music, the important thing is that I feel something, not the style.
Obviously, I'd like to meet someone I have things in common with...who loves live music, movies, tattoos, hanging out at a neat pub, finding cool little back roads and swimming when the instinct arises, be it in a pool, or that lake we just passed on the road, or play Left4Dead for a few hours before going out to a movie. Saying up front that I'm a guy with a lot of geeky interests may seem like a bad idea, but to be perfectly honest I am looking for someone who shares some of those interests. Now, I don't mean a perfect match (where's the fun in that?), but a general interest in various forms of geekery is always a positive, as far as I am concerned.
I seem to be the kind of person who keeps himself busy doing a wide variety of different things. Although I am only working part-time right now (in QA), that is so that I can devote more time to working on various computer and board game projects, which can be a huge time-sink. In addition, I spend two evenings a week helping coach for a fencing club, recently becoming more involved in running the club itself. Some of my other social activities include hanging out with friends and playing board games (sometimes testing some of my prototypes), going out for dinner, or just talking at a coffee shop.
When I get the chance, I also try to sneak in some video gaming and reading. My tastes in such things trend towards science fiction and fantasy, although I do like reading a lot of non-fiction as well, especially books and blogs on politics, economics, and history. I think I'd like to do a bit more outdoors, however I'm not sure what. Maybe something adventurous?
My sense of humour ranges from silly, mischievous, to very dark. Maybe something like Dr. Strangelove would be the best example of a comedy that I enjoy? I also used to watch a lot of Mystery Science Theatre, which parodies a lot of bad science fiction film.
Even if I am mostly looking for someone who shares some of my interests, I'm pretty open minded and willing to give just about anything a try. I am not the kind of person who judges people on their interests or background. There are more important things to look for in a relationship, I think, and sometimes it takes a while before you truly understand someone.
