Meet men and women from Bowmanville, Canada. Admission: back in the day I used to poke fun of people who could not meet someone and had to resort to online means. Well, there is nothing like getting a taste of your own medicine. After all, where else do you meet women (not girls) at my age, considering that most people I know or work with are not single, married or have kids. I don't see myself pulling up a stool at the neighbourhood bar and desperately hitting on any woman that walks by.
So here it goes. I think I need to elaborate on About Me. I feel like I am writing a grade 8 autobiography here. Describe myself... I am a genuine, confident, well-rounded, attractive, fit, witty, sarcastic, educated, well-cultured, well-traveled young man. Well, maybe not so young anymore: 35. Where has the time gone? What else? I value experience, animal and human rights, humour, intelligence, honesty, and being active. I teach and have done so for almost a decade. I believe it to be a noble profession; either that or I'm a sucker for punishment. I teach grade 7 and 8: yes, those hormone-driven, rebellious, I-am-too-cool-for-everyone pre-teens. This is where wit and sarcasm come in handy. I lead a busy life with work, coaching, hobbies, etc. I am separated and the relationship was long, so I haven't doen this in a while. I am not going to rush into anything; I know, a guy is saying that. I love animals (especailly my 2 cats and I have no qualms about saying so), enjoy physical activity, knowledge, reading, good food and drink (and I'm not just saying that to get winks from women), intelligent (can I emphasize that somehow--this program won't let me italicize?) conversations, a good flick, show, concert, or comedy session, and many other things I'm sure we can talk about. I never run out of ideas: can't you tell by the novel which I'm writing? However, most of all, I love to travel. I feel alive when I do so. I guess it's the sense of unknown, experience, inadvertent mishaps, adventure, spontaneity, random encounters, unique people, fascinating cultures, new food and drink, FUN, etc. I plan on doing it all my life. I can also kick-back on the couch, don't worry.
What am I looking for? A person who shares some or many of the above characteristics. I am not looking for someone consummately superficial, totally career-oriented (Otherwise how do you enjoy life?), plain, provincial, few goals, few interests, etc. No women who still club----do I look I'm 20? Please, no soap operas either. If I want trailer trash, I'll hit up Sunnyvale or Jersey Shore. Otherwise, I am open to experiences. It's physical attraction and chemistry that will decide the rest.
Last (I promise), if you are looking for a baseball-cap-wearing, pick-up truck driving, hunting/fishing, macho, muscle-bound neanderthal, who only watches hockey in winter and plays golf in the summer because it's the thing to do, definitely count me out. There is much, much more to me and life than that. Voila, c'est tout, as they say in French.

Without trying to toot my own horn, I like to think that I am a good catch. I am a very respectful, HONEST, and trustworthy. I don't entertain games and I won't play them with you.
I am pretty easy going and I can have fun doing something big and exciting like a weekend away, or even the simplest things like grabbing a coffee and going shopping, or going for a day trip and playing silly games in the car along the way! With the right person, you can have fun doing anything! One of my greatest traits, is I have a good sense of humour and I can also be a little silly at times... I guess thats what you get for being with kids all day! I am also a die hard hockey fan so it would be a bonus if you could at least tolerate watching the odd game. I know it is sad.. but yes I am a Leafs fan ;) Even though they suck the fact that they sell out is a bonus to my retirement pension fund, so I am not complaining ;)
I really love to be outdoors, especially in the summer when I am off work. I am out in the sun and near the water any chance I get! I do love to keep active and some of the things I like to keep busy doing are: playing hockey and skiing in the winter. In the summer, I enjoy golfing, baseball, ultimate frisbee and riding motocross. However, I am always up for learning something new!
Two things I am not: I am not a club kind of guy, but I do like going out for a couple drinks now and then, but mostly to non-club like places lol ie) pubs, lounges, etc. so I am not looking for a "bar star" or regular at the clubs. I am also not a real "city guy". I like spending time down town here and there, but I am more of a cross between city and small town. I love T.O. and all the great things to do there, but I wouldn't want to live there. The outskirts are okay. But not down town. I need my yard and space!
