Meet single girl from Ontario, Canada. My closest friends would probably describe me as loyal, goal-oriented, goofy, and smart. They'd also be sure to tell you that I can be awfully klutzy, sometimes put too much pressure on myself, and get really really fun when I've been drinking.
Things that make me smile include: a sunny day with just the right breeze, returning to Toronto after a long time away, the love of a cuddly dog, and when other people are smiling (especially if I see a random stranger on the street with a huge grin for no apparent reason).
I'm probably most proud of the things that took the most courage for me to do: running 3 marathons, going back to law school after being out of school for a few years and feeling a bit old for it; moving to Australia for half a year even though I was afraid to be lonely; summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro. I'm pretty much always trying to improve or conquer fears or try new things. Hate staying stagnant!
The things I'm most passionate about are: running/being active, travel, family, staying connected to my oldest and dearest friends, and justice issues (hey, I am in law school after all). I'd like to make sure that whatever I do is meaningful in some way (not trying to move mountains, but at least having a positive impact).
I'm looking for someone who is kind, compassionate, intelligent, and most of all a good companion. I'd like a partner to go on adventures with (and sometimes adventures can be simple, like a picnic on Toronto island. Riding the ferry! That's fun!). I love making the kind of connection with a person where you can sit down at a bar or coffeeshop to chat and before you know it, 5 hours have passed like nothing. I'd also love it if you were active or interested in running or cycling as that's a huge part of my life and I'm tired of doing it alone!
However, the thing about online dating that's always gotten to me a bit is that it's so front-ended. We read profiles and find out that, wow, everybody wants a smart, funny, sexy, adventurous person. Everybody's kind, respectful, interesting, and dynamic. If you were to swoop in from outer space and read all these profiles, it'd be amazing how alike the whole human race sounds. I'm finding it very hard to distinguish between people on here and I suppose that means ideally I'd like to take things off the computer pretty quickly and see if there's any chemistry in real life.
While it would be lovely to find "my person" on here and start something serious, I don't have crazy expectations and would really just like to get to know someone and see where it goes. This city is full of wonderful people and just seeing all these profiles on here reaffirms to me that we definitely don't spend enough time getting to know the people around us in real life. I'd like to use this for that purpose too... and maybe sparks will fly?
To address the issue of where exactly it is I live: I'm in Toronto every summer, and in Kingston during the school year, but I come back and forth around 2x a month. As soon as the school slog is done I'll be back in Toronto permanently.
