I am planning to live off grid in the future, and I am just in the process of trying to find a woman bold enough to take on the challenge of living a pioneer lifestyle. My life these days is more about living a sustainable existence. Growing your own food, chopping wood for heat, using renewable energy sources, this is the way to simplify life. It doesn't have to be that complicated.
Definitely an outdoor person. I love and enjoy being with animals of all kinds. I seem to have a natural connection with animals. I have raised farm animals, chickens, turkeys, goats, a couple of cows, and received great satisfaction knowing where my meat was coming from, and knowing just what it had eaten before it was harvested. I have also studied Horticulture and instructed a course in Vegetable crop production, so I have learned a little about growing your own food. Of course I love to garden! I recently completed a certificate program in renewable energy, and feel like I now have the complete package to live off the grid somewhere in the back country, or at least rural.
I was raised in a city, went to school their studying business, moved to Toronto for ten years, almost got married but then got cold feet, and got the hell out of the whole scene. Life in the big city was all too much show, and not enough substance, beside that, the hectic pace wasn't doing much for that pain in my neck. It took me several years to adjust to the Kootenay pace of life, but now that I've adjusted, I realized that this is what life is all about. I am now happily working outdoors at Syringa provincial park, and going to school part time.
In summer I like to swim, hike and explore new places, go canoeing and fishing. In the winter, x country skiing or snowshoeing help keep me active. To overcome winter boredom I like to watch hockey. I am torn between the leafs and canucks... they both break my heart!
My dream girl would be a natural outdoor person, who would desire a rural existance. Perhaps you already have children, and would like to have one more. (I really want to have chilren) You enjoy outdoor recreation, and are not afraid of mice or spiders. (O.K. maybe you are afraid... I'll try not to tease you too much about it.) For the past many years I've focused on parenting - and have helped to nourish and raise two absolutely incredible kids along the way. One son and one daughter…both beautiful people and both living on their own. Without those two my life would be meaningless.
I am family oriented, always positive and hard working. I can see both the detail and the big picture in life. So…while I know how to work tenaciously for what I want, I can also sit still to savor and appreciate the gifts of living.
I’m uncomplicated and come with absolutely no baggage at all…none! We all have history and the attachments that come with living full lives, but I'm not in any way a person who is still allowing major obstacles to get in the way of living his life. I will bring no drama to anybody's life.
I am emotionally stable and available and I don't feel any anger or regrets towards my past. I have dealt with everything and accepted it. I only wish to meet someone who feels the same.
Hanging on to things forever or talking it to death drives me crazy. If you are angry and go silent (the dreaded silent treatment) and hold a grudge for days…that won't work for me. I forgive people I care for quickly (5 minutes tops). If I have a problem I address it immediately (never loudly). Then it is over…done…finito.
I believe that anything in life is achievable. I truly believe that with the right partner you can overcome any challenge by communicating and by working together as a team. “Equally yoked” as it were.
