I worked hard in my thirties and early forties building a successful business; now my life is all about balance. I don’t want the next 15 years to be a blur of work and deadlines. I love living in my King West-area loft studio, close to the gym and the restaurants and coffee shops I like. Everything I need and enjoy is in walking distance.
The main thing I need to fulfill on next is finding a special person to share it all with. In the five years since I became separated I’ve learned a lot, and am open to finding love when it appears. Yet having written that, though I love the giddiness of new love, I know it can be fickle. An initial attraction is important and so is having things in common, but over time that doesn’t necessarily mean someone is going to step up for you when it counts. I believe you have to take a stand at some point, which leads to deeper intimacy, after which point all those items on a “check list” about things in common seem less important, and some of them even silly.
I find I relate most to women who are smart as well as sexy. Please be someone who can engage in sparkling conversation, who likes to cook a meal together, and who enjoys dancing and physical activities. Please be sexy and smart and funny, and not someone who’s overly serious all the time. I don’t care about your possessions or how much (or how little) you earn, but please be a person who’s accomplished something in your 40 years on this earth.
