I'm self-employed, which means I work a few feet from my bed. Short of a few of the bolder bottle-bums who wander onto my patio when I work out there, I don't meet many people writing.
I'm not a shut-in, but I'm rarely one for clubs or an extravagant night-life. I'll take a few good friends over a group of strangers almost any day. I'm the kind of person who needs to a few minutes alone if they're in a crowd for too long. I'd love to tell you this is me being mysterious, tortured, or lonely - but the reality is likely far less sexy. I like listening more than talking, and I like it when people have more to say than the latest gossip in their social group.
If I'm out and about, I usually have my camera strapped on. Though I primarily work in film, I do make a hobby (and sometimes freelance) as a photographer. Portraits are my favourite thing to shoot - primarily because I work enjoy the 35-80mm focal range most.
There are more than a few things that make me smile: old couples being cute, dogs (corgis in particular), unintended innuendos, and clever quips - to name a few. I smile with my eyes more often than my mouth. Really, I boast an impressive range of emotion with my forehead. Try not to get too weak at the knees knowing that.
In any relationship, romantic or otherwise, I value consideration, honesty, and cleverness. Confidence is also big, but not (necessarily) the loud kind. I like it when others are comfortable enough around me that they have the confidence to say anything - stupid, sexy, or some other alliterative option. Well, to describe the basics, I'd say that I am sincere and friendly, and sometimes fairly quiet person. I'm a happy individual, and like to take life with an easygoing, low-stress approach. I hold true to myself. And I'm definitely sometimes a tad geeky, but I suppose that goes with saying given my scientific background! So, put all of the above into a blender, and gently mix - you've got the starting mixture there. But, that blender concoction still seems a little bland, so let's add some more to the mix.
I'm also quite passionate about the outdoors and can find enjoyment in all four seasons - seeing me on a mountain or on a bike isn't an uncommon sight. If I'm not there though, perhaps I'm following hockey and cheering on the Canucks, or I'm adding or listening to something from my vast music library. Otherwise, maybe I'm at a concert, enjoying good food, trying a new experience, or maybe just enjoying some lazy time. I also enjoy the time that I spend with my close friends and family, regardless of what we're really doing.
So now, I think that blender concoction is close to ready, but I think it still needs a little splash of something: perhaps you can provide it? It would be splendid to meet someone that is genuine, lives healthy, one that I can connect with and share and try new experiences together. If that was added to the blender, I'd say that the concoction would definitely be ready!
