Meet someone special from Canada. Ok, so I'm not going to lie. I find this whole thing pretty strange. So instead of writing a novel about who I am or what I want (because who really knows anyway until you find it?), I think I'll write a few random things about myself. Then you can make what you will from that.
So, in no particular order:
- I come from a loud, italian family (not the obnoxious kind) but am pretty laid-back myself (usually)
- I can't imagine life without music, but have little actual musical skill of my own
- Without sounding too hokey, I think it's important for people to just be plain ol' kind to each other. I have no patience for people who put others down to make themselves feel better
- I'm a sucker for a good romantic-comedy
- I probably watch too much reality tv
- I like people who like to laugh
- There is no sound better than the sound of ocean waves
- I'm not a fan of flying (which puts me in a bit of a pickle when it comes to the whole ocean waves thing), but I will do it for a worthwhile trip
- I teach special education in an elementary school and absolutely love my job

Summer is Ottawa is great, I enjoy a good patio or going on a bike ride. This summer, I started dragon boating and also like doing yoga and going to the gym. I am a very laid-back, patient and caring person who is now ready to share the love and my life with that special someone. I have worked in the humanitarian field for a long time and it has certainly helped me to re-think my life, attitude and behaviour towards others. What can I say? It certainly did change my life 180 degrees as I became more aware of human feelings, emotions, hardship of life and to be thankful and appreciative about all those people and things in my life. I was born in Guyana and moved to Toronto when I was young. I enjoy travelling... Some of my favorite countries that I have visited are Italy, England, France, Barbados, Mexico and the US. Travelling gives you the opportunity to not only visit a new country but take in the culture, people and the food! Something I enjoy :)
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am trying to get back in to volunteering... I used volunteer more in the past but due other commitments, have had to cut back. I like volunteering in causes that give back to my community or health awareness.

I'm proud to say I'm a hot mom to an amazing 3 year old daughter!
Now that I've scared away the men that can't handle a woman with a child, I'm a driven person who is independent and focused on her career and yes I do have an amazing daughter from a marriage that has ended (I picked the wrong one and ended up in the "1 out of 2" that don't work out...gasp!..shock!).
When I'm not working, I like spending time at the family cottage with friends, cooking up a storm and drinking some frosty beverages. I also love to travel and welcome new experiences that result from changing my locale.
I'd say I'm pretty easygoing, I like to entertain and ensure everyone around me is having a good time. I like to bust a move to a good funk, soul, or R&B song, but I'm not so much into line dancing...I'm also pretty handy, can handle home repairs, change a tire etc....though some tasks I'd love to have a guy around to take care of (jar opening!!).
